ISO 5682-3:1996 download free.Equipment for crop protection Spraying equipment – Part 3: Test method for volume/hectare adjustment systems of agricultural hydraulic pressure sprayers.
1 Scope
This part of ISO 5682. specifies the test method for volumelhectare adustment systems of sprayers in order to assess precision of spraying and performance.
It applies to mounted, trailed or self-propelled agricultural hydraulic pressure sprayers used for protection and/or fertilization of crops.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain provisions wfiich, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of ISO 5682. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this part of ISO 5682 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated below. Members of IEC and ISO maintain registers of currently valid International Standards.

3 DefinitIons
For the purposes of this part of ISO 5682. the definitions gwen in ISO 5681 and the following definition apply.
3.1 volum./h.ctar. adjustment system: Devoe which slows application. in liquid form, of a predetemwied constant volume per hectar. treated, of piotecton and/or fertilizing spray mixture independent of vsnation n the torward driving speed
NOTE — The different systems ar. classified as toIows
1) system controlled by the rotation cia power lake off lPTO)
2) systom controlled by the rotation of a land wheel,
3) system controlled by any other mesa
4 Test conditions and apparatus
4.1 G.rieral test contlons
The general test conditions shell be those specified in ISO 5682-2:19e6. clause 6, and the specific conditions gwen m4.2.
42 Specific test condItions
42.1 All measurements of the voltaiefhectare rate are carried out at the spray boom or nozzle carrier using water as the test liquid. Measuring and recot1ng shall COflliflu until the system r.turns to a steady state condeion.
422 At the start of the measurements defined in 5.1 arid 5.2, the following conditions shal be set on the sprayer:
— &iving speed 2nVs;
— power take-oft IPTO) rotational frequency- 400 miii-t
— volumejheciare tale 300 lEtie.
lii case ci other travelling speeds nominal (PTO) rotational frquencies (for example 1 000 mn-lI or non PTO
&ives. rotational frequencies analogous to 540 men-1 are valid
42.3 If hydrauhc driven pumps ire tested when integrated ri the sprayer. variation of the speed (52) ii not necessary.
4.3 Test appamitus
The standard pressure gauges and th• stop-watch used for the tests shall meet the specifications of ISO 5682.1.1996. l.use 5.
5 Test proc.dur.
The measurements shall be made tinder the conditions specifiad in 4.1 and 4.2 together with the conditions specified ‘in 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3. Msasre continuously the duration(sl for which the mean volurnalhectere rate deviates by more than 10 % from the mean volurnelhectare rate in the steady state.
The measurements in 5.1 and 5.2 shal be repeated twIce.
5.1 Switching on and off the nozzle lines
5.1.1 Set the spra’r to the conditions specified in 4.2.2. Switch on the nozzle lines and make the measurements sinititaneousfy.
5.12 Set the sprayer to the conditions specified m 4.2.2, then luwer the driving speed to 1,5 m/s and reduce the PlO rotational frequency to 300 mirt-1. Switch on the nozzle lies and make the measurements simultaneously.
5.1.3 Set the sprayer to the conditions specified in 4.2.2. then raise the driving speed to 2,5 nVs and raise the PlO rotational frequency to 500 mirrt. Switch on the nozzfe lines and make the measurements simultaneously.
51.4 Successively switch off boom sections except one, then switch them on again. Make the measurements simultaneously.
52 Speed variations
521 Power take-off (PTOI rotational fr.quency
Change the PlO rotational frequency from at least 300 mm-T to 400 mm-1 and then to 500 nm-1 and then from 500 mm-1 to 400 mm-’ and then 300 mm-’ in stages of five seconds each. Make tile measurements simtitaneousy.
522 Driving speed
Set the driving speed to at least 1,5 nVs. 2 nVs, 2.5 nVs. 2 rrs. 1,5 n-Vs and make the measurements simoftansousfy,
5.3 Resetting the volumelhectare rate
Measure the volLM-nedhectare rate as described below end caictiate the coefficient of variation in accordance with clause 6.
The equipment ie operated at PTO rotational frequency of 500 mimi-1 end a drMng speed of 2 n. Make the following t series of measurements seven times.
Set and operate the equipment at a vcfumeiiheclare rate of 100 tha, or the next highest value, then successively set it to 200 bbs. 300 bile and 400 lAa list senes of measurements lascendingO. Set to 500 the, or the next lowest value, then successively set it to 400 Lfha. 300 Llha and 200 h’ha l2nd series of measurements Idescendingil.
Make measurements at voiumelhectare rates of 200 lIla. 300 lIla and 400 lIha for the ascending series and at 4001/ha, 300 jIbe and 200 lila for the descending series rsp.cW.ly.
When setting the voh, malhectare rates, be careful not to exceed the requwed value to be set and to have to adjust the volumeftiectare rate in the oppoaite direction.
NOTE — II tiles. diagrams or the operator’s manuil, proEle tot a volumnelbectate rate of less than 150 bile or greeter than 450 tha, at a driving speed of a rr. then both series of measurements should be reset 10150 bbs or 450 lIba.
